Frequently Asked Questions
What do I wear?
What ever is comfortable for you? Full body sprays can be done in shorts and a tube top, bathing suit, disposable undergarments, or nude.

How long does a spray tan application take?
Airbrush Tanning will take anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes for a complete professional spray tan.

How should I prepare for my tanning session?
You should exfoliate and moisturize (oil free, no ultra hydrating bath products) the day before your session, preferably the night before. Shave or wax at least one day before your session. Best if you can avoid applying make-up, deodorant, moisturizers or perfumes the day of your treatment. Make-up is okay but the coverage will not be a heavy on that area. (see Q&A) We can always remove before your tan.

How long will my tan last?
Your tan should last 7 to 14 days with proper moisturizing and after care. Sunless spray tanning is not an exact science. Each individual's body chemistry is different, and results will vary based on the individual skin type and pH balance. However I cannot guarantee how long any tan will last as everyone's skin type is different. Following a solid skin care regime before and after your sunless tan application will extend your tan's longevity by days! Exfoliation before you tan your skin, then following the tan with daily tan extender lotions typically will extend your tan's life span by 30%.

How long before I can shower or workout?
Avoid any contact with water for the first 2 to 4 hours. I recommend you wait at least 8 hours before rinsing off or working out to allow your tan to properly develop. To have a longer life of the tan only rinse with water for your first shower. Use your hands or gently rinse with a soft cloth. No soap. Wash the palms of your hands only if you are using your hands to rinse. Tanning before noon, and showering before bed is the most common practice. Some people will tan before bed, however this can leave your bed sheets with a dirty color in the morning from the DHA is still active, even after 8 hours, and will stain your hands. Gently pat dry with a towel, do not rub.

Will the bronzer from the spray tan get on my clothes and bed sheets?
Until you shower, you may see a little of the bronzer come off on your clothes. (You may want to bring a towel for your car seat if the session is done away from your home) The solution is water soluble and will wash out. We recommend bringing dark, loose fitting clothing to wear after your session. Important: the bronzer has been known to stain leather, suede, silk, linen or fine materials.

How soon will I see the tanning result?
You will receive an immediate, all natural looking tan that will continue to develop and become darker over the next 6 to 12 hours. The tan will reach its maximum color within 24 hours. People will notice the dramatic results very quickly.

What is in the solution that causes the skin to turn brown?
First, there is the bronzer (food coloring) which helps the technician see where they are spraying. Secondly, the main ingredients are dihydroxyacetone (DHA) and Erythrulose, both naturally occurring fruit sugars which react with the amino acids in the top couple of layers of your skin to turn it brown. DHA has been used for over 40 years and has obtained FDA approval as a skin safe coloring agent.

What if I'm getting a Mani/Pedi or waxing?
I would advise have these done before your tanning session. Any waxing MUST be done at least a day before your tanning session. If you do have a Mani/Pedi after (at least 24 hours after) please instruct your technician to just color the nails and not rub or massage the area. Otherwise, they may discolor your tan on your legs, arms, hands and feet.

What if I receive my spray tan late at night?
The solution can be left on until the next morning. Many people choose to wait until the next morning to rinse any way. The longer you wait, the darker your tan will get, and longer it will last. Delaying your rinse will allow the DHA sufficient time to react with the amino acids (proteins) in your skin. I advise 8 hours before you shower.

Will the color rinse off in the shower?
Yes, the cosmetic bronzer that is visible immediately when you are sprayed will wash off with your first shower, revealing the DHA bronze tan beneath.....A Beautiful Bronze Tan!

Will swimming affect my tan?
If you are in and out of the pool your tan will have little to no effect. If you are in the pool for long periods of time the chlorination can cause some fading. Anything chlorinated, hot tubs, pools and spas will make your tan fade faster.

Does a spray tan provide SPF protection?
No, not at all! Spray tans do not provide any sunscreen protection, so you should apply sunscreen accordingly.

Can anyone Spray Tan?

Most people are suitable to have a spray tan. We suggest that pregnant women in the first trimester, those with severe asthma or with very sensitive skin refrain from spray tanning or consult a physician before spray tanning.

Is Spray tanning ok for kids/teens?
Yes it is. However we require the signature of a parent or guardian for those under the age of 18. Also, for those under the age of 18, we require that they are clothed in either swim trunks (male) or bikinis (female) or equivalent clothing
